Review: Food with Friends: The Art of Simple Gatherings by Leela Cyd

Special thanks to Blogging for Books for sponsoring this post.

Simple gatherings with friends make the world go round. I truly believe this. When friends come together over food cooked with love, life is just good. Right? From impromptu picnics to a last minute dinner on an unexpected weeknight, it's always great to get together with friends for good food and good conversation.

Here's a book that celebrates food with friends, hence the title.  Food with Friends: The Art of Simple Gatherings by Leela Cyd offers a little inspiration. Best of all, this beautiful book features dishes that are easy to whip up in a flash so you can focus on friendships and not food prep. Think French toast doused in lavender syrup, rainbow chard empanadas served with pistachio crema, or a vibrant purple cauliflower hummus -- it all just sounds complicated but it's not. These are dishes that you can prepare with love...but even at the last minute, minus the stress.  Extra tips focus on creating an inviting table, stocking a pantry to make last-minute nibbles, and packing delicious parting gifts for guests.

I'm making a point of gathering more with good friends over good food this summer, and this book is inspiring me to take that little extra leap to make my dinner parties even more inviting.
