Book Review: The Sleep Revolution TRANSFORMING YOUR LIFE, ONE NIGHT AT A TIME By ARIANNA HUFFINGTON

Disclosure: I was provided a review copy of this book. All opinions are as always my own.

When was the last time you a had a long, good night's sleep?

"We are in the midst of a sleep deprivation crisis," writes Arianna Huffington, the co-founder and editor in chief of The Huffington Post. No doubt lack of restful sleep affects our health, our job performance, our relationships and our happiness. In her latest book, The Sleep Revolution, Huffington calls for asleep revolution: we need to repair our relationship with sleep.

This books is both scientific and personal. It goes in depth into the history of sleep, to the role of dreams in our lives, and the serious consequences of sleep deprivation. It unveils new discoveries in sleep science and its effects on everything from weight gain to cancer and Alzheimer’s. In The Sleep Revolution, Arianna shows how our cultural dismissal of sleep - Who has time for it!?!? -   compromises our health and our decision-making and undermines our work and personal lives.

I'm hoping to make better sleep a priority in my life, and this book sets the stage for the science behind sleep and the elements of a good night’s sleep.
