Jet Set: Travel in Style

Last week, the evening before my trip to Annapolis, I attended a great media event sponsored by SoChic Media. The focus was on summer travel, with an emphasis on traveling in style.

My kids traveling in style: boarding a sea plane to St. Croix this past April.

Held at the KH Photography Studio in Lincoln Park, this smaller scale event meant bigger opportunities to connect and learn more about brands that matter to me, and since I'm a travel writer, it was great to be able to ask questions and learn more about products and services focused on traveling in style.

I was happy to see the Hilton Sandestin Golf & Beach Resort. I had traveled to Destin, Florida, a few years ago with my son. It was one of our best family trips ever - we met pirates, jetskied, played with dolphins, but mostly just enjoyed the beautiful beaches and fine southern cuisine that this region of Florida is best known for. The Hilton Sandestin offers so much for families looking to get away from it all, relax and enjoy time together as a family - I'd like to visit next spring break.

Another great product range I was introduced to at the event was the Sunology line of natural sunscreens. I was given a few samples that I took along with me to Annapolis. I am sold on Sunology! As a very fair skinned woman, I need daily sunscreen. Sunology's mineral-based formula uses UV Micro Reflexion technology to reflect the sun's rays from on top of the skin, creating a physical barrier. And since they're made with natural active ingredients, they didn't irritate my super sensitive skin.

I also enjoyed speaking with the HomeAway representative. HomeAway HomeAway is a vacation rental marketplace with more than 952,000 vacation rental listings in 190 countries. There are no traveler fees and Forbes rated it one of their "Most Trustworthy" companies. I've been browsing their huge selection of vacation homes and having fun figuring out summer summer escapes to Michigan!

I connected with some other great brands, too, including CoolibarFamily Travel with Colleen Kelly, Noktivo Spa - a non-toxic spa and beauty boutique, Spin Spun (gourmet cotton candy!), yurbuds, Accessory Mercado, Go Picnic, derma – e, and La Fresh

Special thanks to SoChic Media for putting together this great event! I'm always appreciative when I have the chance to enjoy an evening with my fellow social media mavens while learning about new products and services that will make my life easier!
